Dr. Shahram Rezaiamiri, MD, FACS, and his family
moved to south California in 1979 where he attended
and graduated from high school. In 1988 he received a
Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. Before going
back to UW to attend medical school, he worked for GTE
Research Labs in Boston and spent a year in Texas in
their GTE’s telecommunications division. Dr. Rezaiamiri
finished medical school in 1994 and then attended the
University of Rochester and completed his residency in
Neurosurgery at Strong Memorial hospital.  In 1998, he
spent one year in Virginia completing a fellowship in
Complex Spinal Surgery. He has been in Atlanta since
2001.

Dr Rezaiamiri has extensive experience in treating complex spinal disorders. He was the
first in the south Atlanta area to perform minimally invasive spinal disectomy and fusion.
He also has extensive experience in treating brain tumors. He was the first to introduce
the Computer Based Stereotactic Image Guided Surgery in the Atlanta area for the
treatment of brain tumors. Dr Rezaiamiri is presently one of the few spine surgeons who
perform the new minimally invasive spinal fusion technique, XLIF (www.xlif.org).
